Podiatrist (BSc, MSc)

Mira Lähdesmäki

Mira Lähdesmäki, podiatrist.

Individually, just for you

I qualified as a podiatrist (BSc) in 2015 and have since completed further training in exercise and insole work. Among other things I am a licensed Footbic instructor, which lets me give clients the tools to strengthen their lower limbs through foot exercises. In spring 2024 I completed a master’s degree in multi-professional promotion of functional capacity.

Throughout my career I have worked closely with special and at-risk groups (diabetes, rheumatic disease, skin conditions), in both clinical foot care and musculoskeletal problems. Movement analysis and exercise guidance also feature strongly in my work. I always emphasise prevention, because problems are far easier to influence at the earliest possible stage.

As a podiatrist my aim is to treat the skin and nail problems that disrupt daily life and movement — and to work out what is behind them, so they can be prevented in future. A lower-limb analysis looks more broadly at how lower-limb function contributes to pain, joint symptoms or the formation of calluses. Surprisingly often the cause turns out to be a faulty gait, a structural or functional misalignment, or an external factor such as footwear.

And if you are wondering whether you can come in purely for some pampering — absolutely you can. I am glad to deliver foot care from that angle too. A warm welcome!
